The 1920s was also known as the “roaring twenties.”This time was
about fundamentalism, sports, the Harlem renaissance, jazz music, and
prohibition. Our website is going to focus on all of these topics.
With the Great War ending, Americans had more time on there hands; things
could be done such as catch a sports game. Some major things one could do during
the twenties if they wanted to watch is American hero is go to a baseball game
and watch the famous Babe Ruth play. People who liked jazz music could go to a
“night out” and listen, the music really expressed how people felt during this
era. This also lead to the Harlem renaissance, this was when novelists, poets,
and artists all came together and celebrated their culture.
One thing that was huge in during the twenties was Fundamentals, the
belief that we should get back to the fundamentals of the catholic religion and
do as the bible says. Lastly Prohibition, the twenties was a time for organized
crime, with the outlaw of alcohol gangsters such as Al Capone took
advantage.
